October 22 is the day when the Holy Catholic Church celebrates as the World Mission Sunday. Every Catholic is called to participate in the Mission of the Church in every way possible, especially through prayer and generosity.

Bishop Michael Olson and the other Texas Catholic bishops are undertaking efforts to help Texas Catholics understand Senate Bill 4, commonly known as the anti-sanctuary city bill, which is scheduled to go into effect on September 1, 2017. An “Understand Senate Bill 4” flyer and a “Know Your Rights” card are attached, both in English and Spanish. Per Bishop Olson’s directive, each parish is required to insert the “Understand Senate Bill 4” flyer in the parish bulletin as soon as possible. Parishes also should make every attempt possible to print and make the “Know Your Rights” card available to members of the parish.
